Noxious Weed Open House

Attendees will receive guidance on identification and control of common and problematic invasive plants in an open house format.

Are blackberries, knotweed, or other noxious weeds taking over your yard? Join staff from Snohomish Conservation District and Snohomish County Surface Water Management for a Noxious Weed Open House in Lake Stevens to get your questions about noxious weed identification and management answered! Attendees will have the opportunity to connect directly with staff members to ask questions and get more information about the specific weeds on their property.

During this open house, we will:

  • Discuss identification, control, and Integrated Pest Management strategies for common and problematic invasive plants.

  • Focus on the questions attendees bring about specific noxious weeds.

  • Help attendees visualize weed control on their property through the use of props, tools, and demonstration.

  • Provide specific guidance for controlling invasive species near streams and wetlands.

The open house will be held in Lake Stevens. Address will be provided upon registration.

If you think you have a noxious weed on your property but are unsure of what it is, you can email photos of the plant to tbulthuis@snohomishcd.org for help with identification.

The open house will take place at a streamside property with uneven terrain and no paved walkways. The parking lot and walking area are located in a grassy field. Please reach out to Brianna Bjolstad at bbjolstad@snohomishcd.org if you need reasonable accommodations in order to attend this event.
